Each year I try and add something different to my reviews and blog.
New Follower
www.thephantomparagrapher.blogspot.comThe Phantom Paragrapherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15489073520213988883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8929745927447804460.post-24871452812835695162012-01-12T15:37:15.295-06:002012-01-12T15:37:15.295-06:00For me, changing the appearance of my blog gives i...For me, changing the appearance of my blog gives it new energy. I also like to use that time to shift and see how I can improve--not only the functioning of my blog, but the content. It's kind of like Spring Cleaning. It's also probably a good thing that I'm technologically impaired, otherwise I'd be changing my blog all the time!

I love what Missie does, btw. The seasonal changes in her header and wallpaper are a hoot. I revamped it for the new year, and went with something cleaner and simpler and a little vintage looking. I'm hoping I can stick with this design for awhile!

I'm looking forward to following you and discovering new books!

Lauren @ Hughes ViewsLHugheshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07447464817875756643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8929745927447804460.post-28939186315228403512012-01-05T15:28:10.992-06:002012-01-05T15:28:10.992-06:00Welcome to the book blogging world! I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time, because I know I have been and I've been here nearly a year.

I started blogging for very similar reasons - I didn't have many friends who enjoyed reading books as much as I did, so it often felt futile talking to them about it. Now that I have this whole community of friends who I can talk about book stuff with, I'm glad I did it!

I see you're reading New Girl soon - I'm currently reading it and I really like it! I can't wait to see what you think :)Alexa S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13185723439360170259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8929745927447804460.post-17978335754936455282012-01-04T13:15:50.601-06:002012-01-04T13:15:50.601-06:00When I was brand new I was changing my design ever...When I was brand new I was changing my design every other day! I just couldn't find something that fit me and the vision I had for my blog. I ended up scrapping the template completely and making my own header! Now that I'm comfortable with the blog representing me, the itch to change it often has subsided.

I just use a star system (which I googled lol). I've debated coming up with a custom system, which I'd have to find a photo program to edit to fit my needs.

Good luck!

I'm also participating in Small's event, and if you're interested in checking out my post, you can find it here!

Kelly
Radiant ShadowsKellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10185081981237514590noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8929745927447804460.post-91554608033005960272012-01-04T11:10:34.704-06:002012-01-04T11:10:34.704-06:00Thank you! I agonized over my blog design, but once I went "live" I haven't changed it. I second everything Juju has said--it's all excellent advice.

What matters more to me about design is that it is clean and easy to navigate. I think you've accomplished both of those points.Small Reviewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16072352095510905410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8929745927447804460.post-41776595468447708412012-01-04T08:14:41.048-06:002012-01-04T08:14:41.048-06:00I'm a new blogger and I also feel the need to ...I'm a new blogger and I also feel the need to change my look. When I was a newbie (2 1/2 years ago) I changed my look allot.

What I learned over the years is that change occasionally is good but people actually prefer a nice standard look. It's like an old favorite t-shirt. They know it and come to expect it and look forward to it.

Misse The Unread Reader (http://www.theunreadreader.com/) does it best. She keeps her gal in the header the same but changes the backgrounds. It gives her followers a constant among the fun changes.Tales of Whimsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10938494589922620170noreply@blogger.com
