Follow Friday [9]

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Every week there is a new question to answer and new bloggers to meet! There is also a different blog featured every week and this weeks featured blog is Hesperia Loves Books, so don't forget to head over there and check it out!

:This Weeks Question Is:

Have you ever looked at book’s cover and thought, This is going to horrible? But, was instead pleasantly surprised? Show us the cover and tell us about the book.

Why yes, yes I have. I mean honestly, who hasn't had at least one book like that?! There are a lot of books out there and, as a big indie author fan, you come across a lot of digitally done covers. This comes to no surprise because well, you have to hire people! Covers cost money! But usually, there is always a pleasant surprise behind them.

These are two of the BEST books I read last year, but I am not going to lie, when I saw the covers I was NOT sure about them at all. But, since I just got done reading Thoughtless and Effortless by this same author I KNEW something amazing had to be behind those covers. And you know what? I was SO right. S.C. Stephens never ceases to amazing me and I ALWAYS know I will love her books once I crack them open. It just goes to show you, you can never judge a book by its cover, no matter how much we like to.
✸✸✸✸ ✸✸✸✸ ✸✸✸✸ ✸✸✸✸
Now, if you have not heard of these books, or S.C. Stephens for that matter click on these covers and go add them to your goodreads shelf!! I am telling you, once you read on S.C. book, you will want to read them all.

What book covers made you squint your eyes but in the end had your singing its praises? Leave your own Follow Friday link or just comment below and let me know!

Happy Friday all!

This Weeks Question Is...

Q: What book would you love to see made into a movie or television show and do you have actors/actresses in mind to play the main characters?

A: What a perfect question! Now, seriously, I read what the question to this weeks FF was and it took me FOREVER to find the perfect people. I honestly think I was searching for 2 hours or more...But first off I guess I should let you know what book I picked to be made into my very own mind movie.Well it was an uber easy pick for me.

Fifty Shades of Grey [or any of the Fifty Shades books]
The first time I ever read this book I was goner so OF COURSE I want this to be made into a movie! You can never have enough Christian Grey ladies. ; ]
So like I said, it took me forever to find my perfect Christian and Ana, but I think I really think I nailed it, well, in my opinion anyway.
So here you go folks, my perfect Mr. and Mrs. Grey....

--Christian Grey--
Uh yummy right?! His name is Ben Hill and as soon as I saw his picture my knees gave out. Ah. This man just looks like he knows how to take control does he not? Like I said, his hair color may not be the same but if you look past that, this is the PERFECT Christian Grey. Commanding and sexy as hell. I would let him take me to his red room of pain any day of the week... ; ]

--Ana Steele--

Ladies and gents, meet Ana Steele. Her real name is Julia Saner but for all intent purposes this IS THE Ana Steele. She just jumped off the screen at me and I knew she would be a perfect fit for my Christian. She just has an air of sexy around her and she looks like she could put up a fight, which we all know Ana can. Yet there is still this sweet innocent vibe going on. If you see these two in a room together, get ready for the heat to be turned all the way up... ; ]

So what do you all think? If you have read Fifty Shades do you think I hit the nail on the head or is it just not working for you? Leave me your own Follow Friday link or drop a comment below to let me know. Happy Friday all!

This Weeks Question Is...

BeefcakeandBabes Asks:
I like unique names for characters and am looking forward to coming up with some when I start writing. What’s the most unique character name you’ve come across?

A: Oh man. I really have to rack my brain for this answer. With all these paranormal books out there, the shortage of WTF names is non-existent. Sometimes it is like authors just bumble some letters together and call it good. So, I'm going to go with my all time favorite unique name I have came across. I am going to have to say Kellan Kyle is the name I adore. He is from the Thoughtless series from S.C. Stephens which is INCREDIBLE. If you haven't checked it out, click here to do so. Anyway, I just love that name. It rolls off the tongue and fits the sexy man who is attached to it. If I ever meet a Kellan in real life, he will have to be awfully studly for me to even say his name outloud. If not I will formally re-name the man myself. ;]

This Weeks Question Is...

Q: What would your prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?

A: Okay, here is how I see it. I'm not going to be here forever, who knows when death [hopefully Tod or Dank, you know, either one] will take me. I wouldn't want to waste my time reading 100 mediocre books while I could re-read my favorite book. The best thing about books is the fact that no matter how many times you read it, there is always something new to learn from it. And why wouldn't I want to spend my days with the characters I love? On with the re-reads!

This Weeks Question Is...

Q: Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?

A: There is usually ALWAYS a sexy stud. Well, I guess that is most books huh? I tend to go for books with a kick ass heroine or a bad boy that is other people just don't understand. Yes, I'm not sure what happened to me, but I am a SUCKER for those bad boys now a days. Give me a brooding male that falls for my kick ass heroine and I am gone. Seriously. And the girl better be kick ass. I don't want no whiny little girl that HAS to have my brooding sexy stud save her. I like my gals to be just as kick ass as the male, if not more in certain situations. I guess I am not very assertive so I like my characters to be. Sure, I wouldn't jump leather jacket wearing, motorcycle ridin' studs bones, but my gal sure will and I will enjoy every moment reading it.

This Weeks Question Is...

Q: What book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?

A: What a great question. I don't tend to avoid many genre's but here are a few. Any religious book. Religious undertones are not my thing, I am not big into any religion so I try and stay away from them. When I read a book, I don't want to feel like I am being preached to, I want to escape. And they don't have any steamy sexy scenes. That's a big no no for me. I am also not a huge Non-fiction fan. I get enough of the real world as it is, why would I want to read about it?! That really is pretty much it. Any other book I would give a shot, but I am just too big of a YA fan to truly love anything else. What can I say, I will always be a teen at heart. [:

This weeks question is...

Q: What's the craziest thing you've ever done to get your hands on any particular book?

A: Uhm, I can't really say I have done anything super crazy or anything. I have stood in a line for hours on end for Harry Potter and whatnot but other than that... I really wish I could say like, I was in a mad rush of book lovers and people got slammed everywhere and I had a tug of war with some lady for the book, but sadly that hasn't happened. Well, I guess that's a good thing huh?! [:
There were a few times I accidentally [*wink*] have not returned a book to my public library. One time my high school library sucked so much that I decided to just go back to the Middle School Library [it was like amazing] after classes and checked out a few books from there...I may have kept a Sarah Dessen book or two... BUT I had to pay the library before I could graduate! So, I didn't really steal it! I paid. [:

This weeks question is.....

Many readers/bloggers are also big music fans. Tell us about a few of your favorite bands/singers that we should listen to in 2012.

Yippy!!! I kind of LOVE this question. I have been wanting to post something on my page about music for some time and this is the perfect opportunity to do it! I listen to TONS of music while I read. If I am on my nook, I am plugged into Pandora, when I am reading a book my headphones are in my phone and whenever I am on the computer Spotify is up and running. It fuels my reading binges people!!! There is really too many to list, so I will just go with a few people who dominate my playlist more than others. In no particular order!

Damien Rice
Snow Patrol
Coldplay
Christina Perri
Civil Twilight
Fun.
Adele
Bahamas
Death Cab for Cutie
Florence + The Machine
Iron and Wine
Katie Herzig
Mumford & Sons

Gosh there are just so many more but it could take all day!!! So I guess I will kinda cut it there but I would love to see who fuels your reading!! Leave your own Follow Friday link or just comment and let me know, because I know most of you jam out while you read. [:

This weeks question is.....

Q: Go count the number of unread books on your shelf. How many?

A: Oh dear, must I count them all?! Okay, real honest to god books, like 3. If you want to get me to count all the books on my nook.....please allow me ample time to tally.....one more moment please.....the count is....38. Okay, not as bad as I thought, it could have been worse eh?! And I am not even going to go into my goodreads to be read shelf. Then we are getting into the 300's, and no one wants to see that!
