Shelf Candy Saturday [11]

Shelf Candy Saturday is a weekly meme hosted by Five Alarm Books. Every Saturday, bloggers post a cover that really caught their eye over the week for everyone to see. Judging a book by it's cover has never been so fun

My eyes kind of went all dreamy when I first saw this weeks Shelf Candy. I was instantly hooked and I know you all will be too.
Check it out!

 Crewel
Gennifer Albin
Incapable. Awkward. Artless.

That’s what the other girls whisper behind her back. But sixteen year-old Adelice Lewys has a secret: she wants to fail.

Gifted with the ability to weave time with matter, she’s exactly what the Guild is looking for, and in the world of Arras, being chosen as a Spinster is everything a girl could want. It means privilege, eternal beauty, and being something other than a secretary. It also means the power to embroider the very fabric of life. But if controlling what people eat, where they live and how many children they have is the price of having it all, Adelice isn’t interested.

Not that her feelings matter, because she slipped and wove a moment at testing, and they’re coming for her—tonight.

Now she has one hour to eat her mom’s overcooked pot roast. One hour to listen to her sister’s academy gossip and laugh at her Dad’s stupid jokes. One hour to pretend everything’s okay. And one hour to escape.

Because once you become a Spinster, there’s no turning back.

:Why It's Shelf Candy:
Do you really need to ask me that question. I mean...HELLO! Look at this gorgeous cover! And if those wisps of colorful smoke isn't enough to draw your eye in, read the synopsis! This is something in YA that we have not seen before and it has me gnawing on my nails in anticipation. Now I would like to ask you all a question. How the hell have I not seen this before?! As soon as I laid eyes on it I wanted it on my shelf, like, yesterday. I know many of you have probably fainted from shear beauty right now, so I will let you all collect yourselves, but when you do, don't forget to head on over to goodreads and add this gem to your list. I am excited to show you all this weeks Shelf Candy. I saw it browsing through goodreads one day and read the synopsis and I was instantly a goner.

 Drowning Instinct
Ilsa J. Bick
There are stories where the girl gets her prince, and they live happily ever after. (This is not one of those stories.)

Jenna Lord's first sixteen years were not exactly a fairytale. Her father is a controlling psycho and her mother is a drunk. She used to count on her older brother—until he shipped off to Afghanistan. And then, of course, there was the time she almost died in a fire.

There are stories where the monster gets the girl, and we all shed tears for his innocent victim. (This is not one of those stories either.)

Mitch Anderson is many things: A dedicated teacher and coach. A caring husband. A man with a certain...magnetism.

And there are stories where it's hard to be sure who's a prince and who's a monster, who is a victim and who should live happily ever after. (These are the most interesting stories of all.)

Drowning Instinct is a novel of pain, deception, desperation, and love against the odds—and the rules.

:Why It's Shelf Candy:
Did you read that synopsis?! I am going crazy over here with want. Not only do I LOVE the synopsis, but the cover blows me away. So simple, yet so dramatic and fits with the synopsis perfectly. I love the fade effect that is going on, from pure black, to blue, to white at the very bottom. Also, the water dripping off of the girls face/hair just adds the perfect touch. I can not wait to order this book and have it in my hands and I PROMISE you all, when I read this, you will get one hell of a review. Books that push the limits are always so breathtakingly amazing, that I know this will change me somehow, in someway. Ilsa J. Bick, I can not WAIT to see what kind of journey you are going to take me on with this one.

Shelf Candy Saturday [9]

Shelf Candy Saturday is a weekly meme hosted by Five Alarm Books and I chose to do it so I could brighten up my Saturdays! Every Saturday, bloggers get to post a cover that has really caught their eye over the week for everyone else to see. It is a great way to find some new books to be put on your to be read shelf or just admire the wonderful covers that are already there. Judging a book by it's cover has never been so fun. [:

So this week I am going to do things a bit differently. Usually I will give you the cover and then have you click on the link to read the synopsis and add it to your tbr pile over on goodreads but this book JUST had its cover reveal the other day and the synopsis is still not on goodreads yet. So that means this week I am doing a bit of a cover reveal/synopsis reveal because this book took my breath away folks.
So here we go! My pick for this weeks Shelf Candy.

 The Carny
Brooke Moss
Release Date: July 21st 2012
At a town fair on the coast of Oregon, handsome Native American carny, Vincent Youngblood, bestows an unforgettable kiss on shy, awkward teenager, Charlotte Davenport. Then disappears without another word, leaving her baffled and enamored.

Ten years later, Charlotte is still living in the small fishing town of Astoria, while being trained to--reluctantly--take over for her philandering hotelier father when he retires. After all, who else will do it? Her two perfect sisters are busy being married to their flawless husbands and having cookie cutter children, while Charlotte remains single, childless, and every bit as mousy as she was a decade ago.

As Charlotte struggles to climb out from underneath her judgmental parents thumb, the carnival rolls back into town, and Charlotte finds herself face to face with Vin again. He's back to run his father's carnival, walking away from a promising career in medicine he started in Chicago. Will her biased and judgmental family accept her relationship with a man who is not only a Native American, but works as a carny for a living? And what unsavory secrets bind the well-educated and seemingly superlative Vin to that ramshackle carnival? After all, you can’t judge a carny by its cover.

Why It's Shelf Candy
Okay, I had never heard of this book before and then I was browsing down my blogger reader and saw it. I was enamored. I had to click on the title and read what this beautiful cover was going to be about. As soon as I read the synopsis I knew this was going to be a top read for me this year. The idea is so different from anything out there and honestly a love story with a carny is going to make me flip. We all think of carnies as dirty people trying to outrun some type of past and I KNOW this book is going to blow me away. I have a feeling I will be looking at carnies in a whole new light. And back to the cover, I mean just LOOK! The colors are perfect, like a fair on the beach at sunset. *sigh* Not to mention the hot kiss on top of my dreamy sunset. Beautiful. Click on the cover to head on over to goodreads to add it to your tbr list.

Through To You
Emily Hainsworth
Release Date: October 2nd 2012
Why Its Shelf Candy:
Uh, hello. Just look at it! And if that isn't enough for you...then just click the picture and read the snyopsis. Did you read it? Yeah. You get it now. This book is going to be KILLER. Okay...sorry...back to the amazing cover. Okay first off let talk about the water here. I love how the girl is soaked and laying on something solid in the water. The reflection of her [other half] looks awesome and fits the synopsis perfectly. Oh, and I can not forget the colors of this cover. I like how it is all darker colors. The trees in the back and the reflection in the water, the dark blue/black water, and the fact that you can't totally see the girls face. Ah, I just want this sucker on my shelves now. Seriously, October is forever away! I am just swooning over this cover hardcore. Who knows how bad I will swoon when the book is actually in my hands. ;]

What do you guys think? Did you add this to your goodreads list because if not, you totally should! Is it a hit or miss for you? Leave your own Shelf Candy Saturday link or just comment below and let me know! I would love to see what caught your eye this week. [:

 What She Left Behind
Tracy Bilen
Why It's Shelf Candy:
I am just about the biggest fan of packing all my bags one day and moving to Washington simply for the fact that I LOVE their weather. So needless to say, when I caught a glimpse of the grey skies and a wooden area full of fog my eyes were stuck. I love it. It makes me just want to jump in the picture and start running along with blondie over there. Though, once you read the synopsis of this book you may not want to run along with blondie. Oh, yeah, you can check out the synopsis here. Looks amazing right? This is going to be a powerful book and nothing like driving the mood home than with this gorgeous cover. And back to the chick running...it was caught perfectly. I love how her hair looks as it is swept back by the wind. I am so ready to have this book on my shelves so I can stare at it anytime I want.

What do you guys think? It is a hit or miss for you, because, I am like fawning over it. Leave your own Shelf Candy Saturday link or just comment below and let me know! Happy Saturday everyone.[:

Katie Kacvinsky
Why It's Shelf Candy:
Uhm, lets see. Look at his face. Sex on a stick, I am telling you. I don't know. Honestly every time I see this cover I just like turn into a puddle of swoon goo. I don't know what it is, maybe it is the combination of the cover and synopsis but *sigh* it's hot. You have to admit, there is just something about a close up of an almost kiss. I can't wait to have this one on my shelf so I can stare at this hotness all day long. Also, I mean, look at this gals face. Their skin is flawless and that little bit of stubble on my sex stud? Yes please! Oh and I REALLY love how he is wearing black while she is wearing white. You just know it is going to be a battle of good and evil relationship wise. Now, if you haven't seen this one around don't forget you can click on the cover and check it out. You may just end up falling in love like I did.

So this week was once again a search and scour for me. I kind of like doing them this way because I find so many new books to add to my to be read list on goodreads [like that list really needs to grow anymore] But this weeks pick somehow pulled me in. Lets see what you all think of my shelf candy pick for this Saturday.

One Moment
Kristina McBride
Why It's Shelf Candy:
Okay, this weeks pick caught me by surprise. This cover doesn't necessarily scream Shelf Candy but at the same time it does. I am all for a simple cover, and this one did it just right. I am a big bare foot water kinda gal [it has a lot to do with the fact that I am a Pisces] and I fell in love with this cover the moment I saw it. Not only have I done this a billion times, but this book is all about a ripple effect so the ripples in the water work perfectly with the synopsis. Oh, and it also works with the whole drowning thing...yeah. If you haven't checked this book out yet click on the picture so you can get an idea of what is in store for you and add it to your to be read list! Oh, and as you all know probably from one of my previous Shelf Candy's that I love the whole reflection off the water bit so that is another reason this cover just tugged at my heart. So simple yet fits so well with what is trying to be told. I couldn't pass this one up folks. Its so simply perfect.

What do you all think about this weeks pick? Too simple and plain for your tastes or do you get where I am coming from? Do you have a shelf candy pick this week? Leave your own Shelf Candy Saturday link or just comment below and let me know what caught your eye this week.

I went searching for this weeks Shelf Candy. I usually will see a title that jumps out at me throughout the week, but this week I had to scour goodreads. I know that Shelf Candy Saturday is all about 'judging the book by the cover' but I like to put books up that I also have an actual interest in. I also like to put up books that I have not seen before and that make me wonder to myself, 'How the heck have I not seen this yet?!' So, I was very excited when I found this weeks shelf candy. Check it out! ☟

 Dark Storm
Sarah Singleton
Why It's Shelf Candy:
Well, lets start out with the KILLER color that you get from the cover. I love the stormy tealish blue that is brought out, not only in the clouds but the water and waves below. Then there is the whole mans face in the sky and the woman's hair floating behind her. It just makes you wonder what the heck she is doing on that ledge. Is she going to hurl herself off? Is she trying to connect with the man in the sky? SO many questions come along with this stunning cover and it just caught my eye the moment I saw it. I was pleasantly surprised once I click on it and read the synopsis. I hope this story is as great and it sounds to be. I really like the premise and think this will be a nice twist on the whole dead paranormal thing going on. Now, seriously, how have I not seen this before?!

What do you all think about the cover? Is it enough to suck you in and check it out? Well, if it is, click on the picture! Do you have any shelf candy this Saturday? If so, leave me your own Shelf Candy Saturday link or just comment below and let me know what has caught your eye this week.

So, my shelf candy wasn't very hard to find this week. Usually I am like over on goodreads going back and forth with books on my to be read or just finding new books to add to my lists. But this week was a bit different. If you have talked to me/seen me talk to others on twitter you probably know I am a HUGE Abbi Glines fan. Well this week [yesterday to be precise] she did her cover reveal for Predestined the second book in the Existence Trilogy. So, without further adieu I give you my Shelf Candy for this very special Saturday....

Predestined
Abbi Glines
Why It Is Shelf Candy:

Okay, I will give you a few more seconds....ready? AMAZING wasn't it?! So needless to say this cover blew my socks off! Sadly, Dank is not involved in this cover but Pagan totally takes center stage and I LOVE it. Her eyes are just mesmerizing and the smoke all around her gives off this dark and eery vibe. *Squeals* I just can't contain my excitement about this book people! All I can tell you guys is check this Trilogy out! You can click on the cover or you can head over to Abbi Glines goodreads page and see what else she has to offer. This week I wasn't sure what cover to do. Like really, there are so many pretty covers out there!! My Waiting On Wednesday post had one hell of a great shelf candy on it, but I didn't want to use that again. So, surprizingly last night I got approved for a book on NetGalley that I have been looking at for days so I decided that it was perfect for my shelf candy! So, I give you all my Shelf Candy for this Saturday!

Lies Beneath
Anne Greenwood Brown

Why It Is Shelf Candy:
Uhm why would this NOT be shelf candy?! Maybe I am just a sucker for water since I love to swim but seriously. I LOVE that you can see the reflection of her red pants[?] on the surface of the water. It just reminds me of when I was little and I would just hover right underneath the water so it was like I was looking into a mirror. I mean who didn't do that right?! Right?! Also books about mermaids are always a blast to read! Especially when these mermaids are a bit evil and kill their prey to absorb their energy! Also, the rays of sun that do make it past the water, just gah! I love it. If you haven't checked this book out you should definitely do so!! Go add it on your to be read list from Goodreads now! Here, I will even give you the link. Check It Out!!!

So this week a certain books series that I am in complete and total love with revealed its newest books cover [which is set to release in May] and I seriously spent days freaking out over it. I know a lot of blogs have done cover reveals for it but I couldn't help but to use it for my very first Shelf Candy Saturday because this book cover is just stunning. So, this Saturday my shelf candy is.....

City Of Lost Souls
By: Cassandra Clare

Why it is shelf candy:
This sucker is eye candy for multiple reasons, but I think Jace and Clary being together and facing each other on the cover is enough to make you want to pass out with excitement. As soon as it was released earlier this week I have not been able to take my eyes away from it. If you all are a fan of Cassie and this series then you know all about the teasers we have been getting, and I don't know, this cover just seems to fit some of the teasers does it not?! Also, does anyone else notice that Jace's bum is a bit large? Uh, hello, I love Jace, and the fact that he has a nice arse just makes him that much better. I mean, if I do say so myself and all....but you all know you are thinking it too! But really people, the look these two are giving each other on this cover makes me so excited for the May 8th release. Go on over to goodreads and add this shelf candy to your own to be read list, you know, if it isn't already there. [:
