What is the last book that you learned something from? What book was it, and what did it teach you?

Awesome question, not so easy to answer! I don't read too many teachy books BUT even though I don't doesn't mean I don't learn from the books I read. I would have to say the last book I read that really taught me something was The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. That book had me beside myself in grief and sorrow and it really just stayed with me. It taught me to look at my life differently and to see what kind of mark I can leave behind once I am gone one day. If you haven't read this book, I HIGHLY recommend it. But be ready for some major water works people. Major.

What is your favorite romantic book –or book that includes a love story? (an adult romance, young adult, kids’ story, anything)

Well... This question is pretty dang hard to answer seeing as I seem to fall in love with every single book I read. BUT there, of course, are a few that stand out among the crowd. So I am going to tell you what my top three favorite romance books are, because I really just can't pick one!

-Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park-

Yeah, so those three right there? Epic romantic reads. They changed my heart in their own little way and I will re-read them forever.

This Weeks Question Asks...

Did you do any reading in lieu of watching the football game, yesterday, or were you foregoing reading to watch the game? If you read a book (or books) what did you choose?

I wasn't necessarily foregoing reading due to the football game but that is how yesterday paned out for me. I was actually not reading yesterday because I had 3 reviews to write and I didn't want to add another book to that pile just yet. But I definitely wasn't reading during the game. I am a huge football fan so it was a must watch for me. Though, I wasn't very happy how the game ended up. I'm a Brady fan when it comes to Manning. Oh well, there is always next year. Kansas City Chiefs all the way baby! ;]

This weeks question asks:

Why do you think the Young Adult genre is so popular with even the adult readers? Do you read YA books, yourself?

I think adults love YA for the same reason any of us do. Oh, and yes, I am a totally YA freak!

The reason I enjoy YA is simply due to multiple reasons. [: First off, you have a more imaginative plot and there are more variety's of said plots. It makes for a more interesting read and when you have a big book junkie like myself, and many of you, its nice to have a choice and know you will read something fresh and new. Secondly, the relationships in YA are way more fun to read. These are guys and gals in high school who are falling in like, questioning their feelings, and flirting their pants off [sometimes quite literally] and it makes you feel all giddy inside. Thirdly, it is nice to read a book that you take something away from. Even though these are YA books, I feel like sometimes the theme and the writing lets even adults take the message to heart. Sometimes we forget to go back to the "simple" answers that can make all the difference. And finally, I just love the snarky, quirky, down right hilarious dialog that these characters exude. I love to laugh when I read, even if it makes people look at me weird and these books have that. I feel like the characters in YA are still young and therefore haven't lost all that drive to rebel or make the person they are crushing on a bit mad. It makes for major laughs and then I fall hard for some fictonal boy I can never have *sigh* [Augustus Waters in The Fault in Our Stars for SURE]

So uh yeah. That is why I LOVE Ya, and I am pretty sure that is why it draws a large adult crowd also. Everyone likes to remember there first crush and that feeling you got in the pit of your stomach. With rich dialog and fantastic plots to boot, who wouldn't fall in love with YA?

This weeks question asks:

What devices -if any- do you read books on? Do you find it enjoyable or somewhat bothersome? OR: If you only read print books, why haven't you chosen to read on any devices?

Oh boy! I like this question, and it is a perfect way to start off my week. I am a HUGE fan of my nook color. I have had it for almost a year and since I live so far away from a book store it really reengaged my love of reading. Now, nothing can compare to a real book, there is just something about the smell and feel of the paper beneath your fingers, nothing can come close to it! But my eReader is so convenient that I would be lost without it. Most of the time I can get books ten times cheaper on my nook than I could buying it in the store, and being a big Indie Author reader that is the best way to get the book I want from the people I want.

Not to say there aren't any downfalls from an eReader. Sometimes when I am reading a book and go to turn the page, something malfunctions and I am left scrolling the same page over and over and then I have to skip a few pages in order to keep reading. That is a PAIN! But other than that I see the major advantages of both forms of reading. Even when I am reading some work off of fiction press [which I do A LOT] I use my nooks internet browser to do so. It is easier on my eyes than sitting at my huge screened computer [17.5 inches].

I know there are tons of people who refuse to use an eReader and I totally understand that, but for me, it really is the best of both worlds. I don't even know if I would be sitting here blogging with you today if I hadn't bought my nook color last year. So read on you readers and enjoy your books or eReaders as much as possible! I know I will. [:

This weeks musing asks.....

Are there any “raved reads” –books that everyone seems to be talking about– that you’re hoping to get read this year, yourself? What books are they, and why are you hoping to read them? Is it because you want to say you’ve read it? Or, would you have chosen to read it, even if you’d discovered it yourself, and no one was raving about it?

This is a great question! There are a ton, and I mean a ton, of raved reads that are on my to be read list this year. For example I can't wait to read A Million Suns, City Of Lost Souls, Hallowed, and seriously so many more! I don't want to read them just due to the fact that they are raved reads, but because I have read the books previous and fell in love with everything about them. There are also a few debut authors and books that are on my list this year that everyone is talking about, but really, it has nothing to do with all the raves and rants about it. When I am looking at books, I don't much notice the hype around it as much as I notice if I like the blurb. But, that is not to say I don't enjoy reading them and then being able to talk to everyone on the blogosphere  about them. That is the great thing about reading a popular book, most other people have read it and then you have just a ton of people to talk about it with. With all these blogs out there it is easy to get swayed into reading a book you wouldn't normally pick up and so far it has worked out great for me. I have read some books I never thought I would like and ended up falling head over heels. But it all comes down to one thing no matter what, how I really feel about the book as a whole after reading the blurb.

What is/are the first book[s] you're reading for the new year?

 I have started off the new year with Across the Universe by Beth Revis and it is pretty much the perfect book to start me off. I mean, giant spaceship full of mysterious people and countless questions? Count me in. Next up this year will be Me@you.com by KE Payne. I recently got this book for review from NetGalley and couldn't be more excited. If you haven't heard about it yet, you should go click on the link and check it out!
