2012 New Adult Reading Challenge [Eeep!]

I have joined my first reading challenge of 2012! This is one I am compleatly and totally excited about!!
The 2012 New Adult Challenge
Hosted by Danya from over at A Tapestry of Words. I was so happy when I found this challenge, ever since I read Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire last year I have been hooked on the whole college aged scene in books. That led me to read Thoughtless and Effortless  and a slew of other books by S.C. Stephens [if you haven't checked out those books you so should! Here is S.C. Stephens Goodreads page.] After that I moved on to Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James and have since read the second book to that series and am impatiently waiting for the third to be released. Okay, sorry, a bit of a rambler I am. My point here is I LOVE the whole New Adult thing.

The Rules/Details:

  • The book must feature a protagonist who is past the average age for graduation from high school (18 in most places). If they're sitting on the fence at precisely age 18, then you can make the judgment call on whether it is more YA or New Adult. (If the majority of it is set in high school, I'd classify it as YA.) The protag should be younger than 30, just to give a maximum limit as well (otherwise we're getting into Not-So-New Adult literature!)

  • This does *not* mean the book must be of the contemporary genre. If it's a fantasy or dystopian or something and there *is* no concept of "graduation" in that world, then just go by our world's standards in deciding if it counts.

  • The Levels:
    • Just Graduated: read a minimum of 3 New Adult books
    • Moving Out: read a minimum of 6 New Adult books
    • Living On Your Own: read a minimum of 9 New Adult books
    • Fully Independent: read every single New Adult book you can get your hands on

My Progress:

I have chosen the Living On Your Own level. I may end up raising it to Fully Independent if I keep on devouring them like I have been, it is just a kind of wait and see kind of thing. [:
